Community

We have a number of community services available. Please contact us if you would like further information on any of these.

Selwyn Centre

This day centre operates in the church house for those over 60 years of age, especially for those in the community who are lonely or housebound. It provides an opportunity to socialise and spend some time with others in a space for friendship, fun, caring and support. Contact Tarina via the church office (Ph 832 5998) for further information, or email

Alpha Courses

Looking for answers? The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner. Held over 10 thought-provoking weekly sessions, a light meal is provided, followed by a talk and discussion on a subject central to the Christian faith. Please view our Alpha web page for information on when our next course is running (registration is free). For further resources on Alpha, please visit www.alpha.org.nz

Stars Party

The Church of the Good Shepherd joins with other Massey churches to organise a free family event on 31 October every year. Food, family activities, crafts, animal farm, bouncy castles, pony rides, entertainment and more. This is well advertised prior to the event. There are always lots of ways that you can help with this event. Please contact Robyn Fasi () for more information.

Healing Clinics

Healing ClinicAs Christians, Jesus has given us authority to pray for the sick and we are excited to serve in this way. We are committed to praying for a person as many times as they need prayer to bring complete healing. Clinics are held on a drop-in basis on Tuesdays 6:30-8pm and Thursdays 9:30-11am in the church. Please come along – you do not need to be a Christian to come to our healing clinics!

CAP Money Course

The CAP Money course is run regularly at Church of the Good Shepherd. It is a revolutionary money management course that teaches budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based money management system, proven to work in times of lack and in times of plenty. For further information, including how to register, please visit our CAP Money webpage.

Food Bank

The church runs a food bank for those who are in need of assistance. Please contact Robyn Fasi on Ph 832 5998.

Bread Run

Donated by Bakers’ Delight in Takapuna, free bread is given away to those in need. Bread is available Fridays 7pm at 24 Moire Rd (the church office, next door to the church).

Community Clothes Shop

A shopping experience for quality second-hand clothing that costs nothing, this is an opportunity for those who are in need of clothes for the upcoming months to acquire pre-loved clothes for themselves and their families. (Limits apply).

These shop days are held two to three times a year to cater for the warmer and colder seasons. The days are set up to be a pleasant shopping experience that gives dignity to those who need free clothing. If you want to donate your clean quality second hand clothing, we are grateful to receive goods throughout the year. Please contact Robyn ( or Ph 832 5998).

Check out What's On for upcoming dates.
